SOME HEALTHY HABITS FOR THE NEW YEAR

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

Well we're already in the second month of this new year but that is not to say one cannot start new health habits right this moment. So even in this second month of the new year let's adopt these five health habits:

1. DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST

Unlike what a greater number of us think, breakfast helps us reduce our intake of calorie for the day and that in return helps with not gaining too much weight. Breakfast is meant to be in small and simple portions like bread and tea or cereal. Breakfast is most important meal of the day and it is important to have something.

2. DRINK WATER

Water is helps with energy and is important for your skin, blood and general health. It's not only when one is fasting that the consumption of water should increase, everyday one should drink plenty of water. It should be a habit to carry a bottle of water wherever you go to take little sips from time to time. It is also healthy to drink a bit of water immediately you wake even before brushing.

3. AVOID LATE DINNERS

It is highly advisable to not eat dinner late like after 7 or 8. Huge calories eaten in meals at night is harder to burn off before sleeping especially if it's high in carnbhydrates. Eating dinner early helps to burn calories before going to sleep and this is a very great way to prevent or reduce any belly fat.

4. ALWAYS EXERCISE

We need to ensure to exercise as much as possible. Most people tend to sit a lot both at home and at work which is not helpful. Walking is best form exercise everybody can do, it doesn't have to be over long distances but it's just so one can be agile to do other things. Exercising is not only about losing weight but also to be in good shape, help joint mobility and energy levels.

5. CUT DOWN ON HEAVY FAST FOODS

Fast foods are easy to access and making eating fast foods a lifestyle means little to no time for home cooked meals. You need to go easy on fast foods and make it not a habit but rather occasional. Home cooked meals helps in making more healthy food choices with much more nutritional values.
