NOLLYWOOD MOVIES THAT STRESS ME OUT (PART 2)

The second batch of Nollywood movies that give me a headache

Black Berry Babes ( All Four Of Them)

Simony Productions

Damisa (Oge Okoye) and her squad (Tonto Dikeh, Mary Remmy, Annie Macaulay) are the Blackberry Babes. These ladies organize their economic, social, and dating lives in a connected mobile environment. This movie was iPhone vs Android before it was ever a thing. The only difference is that it was Blackberry vs everything and everyone else. As the movie begins the initial premise is “everyone wants a BlackBerry phone” but as it goes on we start to see a common theme that we’ve seen before “wayward girls trying to live above their means”. This is typical nollywood. The actors, the dialogue, storyline and the outfits cemented this as an iconic watch for any fan of this genre. The only question is, why are there so many parts?? Like, we get it, they like BlackBerry phones. They didn't need four movies to get that point across.

White Hunters

Simony Productions

Ok ok... The lyrics for this movie’s main soundtrack go like this; “I’m looking for a white man, A ‘whitey’, White Hunters..” It basically tells you everything you need to know about the story.

Young ladies go chasing after white men in order to make it big and move abroad. Though the thing is, most of the men in the movie aren't even white, they're just foreign and they do incredibly stupid things for love.

Girlscot

Simony Productions

In this Nollywood gem, we see a young lady (Genevieve Nnaji) with her friends scamming people by telling them she is the vice president’s daughter. This movie has no head or tail but it contains some undercover girlboss content and a cool car chase scene so... it can't be that bad actually..

Confusion Na Wa

Iroko TV

Trying to explain the plot of this might leave us all confused, but at least it lives up to its name. Somehow various characters cross paths, then run into one another again and simultaneously end up living the most confusing, interconnected and stressful day. It exemplifies the Nigerian experience.

King Of Boys

Kemi Adetiba Visuals

Before you cut my head!

I mean this in a good way. The thriller! The suspense!...

Kemi Adetiba has us on the edge of our seats thinking "I wonder who will die next?", "What will happen?", "I can't believe this happened!!"

With my heart pounding and my mind racing, I gladly accepted this as the only movie allowed to stress me out.
