To New Beginnings

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wastelands _ Isaiah 43: 18-19

So, 2022.

It has been a journey, but we made it.

It feels like a fever dream, really.

We crossed over to new year, the "new beginning."

We can only be grateful to Him for surviving the challenges that had occured in 2021.

In as much as it was arguably the best year for some people, the majority can agree with me when I say that 2021 was a handful.

From personal challenges among friends, families and themselves to the challenges in and out of countries. The infamous COVID-19 pandemic felt like the "perfect" topping to the cake.

Originally, I wanted to write about Saint Nicholas, the origin of "Father Christmas," but I would like to use this opportunity to remind people of the divine strength we received from Him in dealing with the hardships we have faced so far, and how we'll keep moving forward as we are in 2022.

Properties were lost, as well as jobs, financial and mental strength, even their own lives in one way or another. Some persons also lost their loved ones along the line. Some of the deceased did not live to see half of 2021 nor did they live before this year began.

God bless their souls.

But I need people to understand that despite all those hardships, we are still breathing. I need people to see that we are still standing.

That year brought upon wounds, wounds that did not completely heal along the line. People struggled during the healing process. Some were able to complete the process but some still have a long way to go.

Some even fell out of the process, but it is never too late to try again. Maybe that's the reason for the saying, "new beginnings". When something goes off track, you can always pick up the pieces and try again.

That strength that we gather to push forward was given to us by Him. Despite all we have gone through, He saw us through. He had our backs when we were at our lowest.

2021 is done and dusted, 2022 begins

What are you grateful for? What is your next step? What do you wish to achieve?

Have a blessed year.
