POPULAR NIGERIAN DRINKS

Nigerian drinks can be all kinds of edible juice prepared in Nigeria and today we would be looking at some of the drinks. The drinks are not the usual carbonated drinks but the local drinks in Nigeria. Fresh fruits are the greatest source of tasty juices, such fruits include pineapple, orange, watermelon, lemon, grape fruit and lots more.


1. ZOBO


This drink is very tasty and one of the few Nigerian drinks made with only natural ingredients. The zobo leaves used to make it is also natural, both natural and synthesized pineapple flavor can be used. The Nigerian Zobo drink is parked with vitamin C needed to fight cold and cough and generally boost your body defense against infections. No preservative or artificial coloring is used. Zobo is easy to make, get zobo leaves and rinse in cold water twice to remove any sand. Place washed leaves into a pot with boiling water and leave it for about 10 minutes. You can mix ginger and honey with the pineapple flavor into the zobo. Sieve the drink and your zobo is ready.


2. FRUIT JUICE


This is a popular Nigerian drink and different fruit juice could be combined depending on the individuals taste. Orange juice and Pineapple juice can be combined, Grape fruit juice can serve as a standalone fruit juice, Watermelon juice also. Grape fruits contain beneficial compounds that help burn calories. To make any one of these fruit juices one just needs to squeeze as much juice and pulp (where necessary) as possible into cups and mix when desired and refrigerate.


3. CHAPMAN DRINK


This is the most accepted drink for parties like weddings, birthdays celebration, naming in Nigeria. It is also served in hotel bars. This is made by combining popular drinks (any carbonated drink of your choice) and some other ingredients. To make it edible for both adults and kids then Angostura bitters should be avoided because it makes the drink alcoholic. Most times cucumber and lime are used to garnish the drink, you can find it attached to glass or inside the chapman. It is always served with little ice cubes to keep it chilled.
